SAN DIEGO — This Wednesday, Log Cabin Republicans of San Diego (LCRSD) will award San Diego County District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis with its Woman of the Year Award in honor of her leadership in the law enforcement and LGBT communities, and in recognition as a role model for women.
“DA Dumanis has been not only a role model for women in law enforcement, but she has set the bar for LGBT Republican women who wish to run for public office,” said LCRSD President Susan Jester.
“Bonnie demonstrated great courage in running in 2003 as an openly gay candidate under the GOP banner and has helped pave the way for those who would follow in her footsteps.”
Councilmember and mayoral candidate Kevin Faulconer will present the award.
Community members from all walks of life are invited to join LCRSD Wednesday, Sept.18, at 7 p.m. in the lobby of Diversionary Theatre in University Heights. There is no charge to attend the event.
