SAN DIEGO – Plans are set for Special Delivery’s annual LGBT Pride BBQ fundraiser, the nonprofit’s largest annual fundraising event, to take place on the rooftop of the Inn at the Park (formerly Park Manor Suites) from noon to 6pm on Saturday, July 13, announced Executive Director Ruth Henricks. Inn at the Park is located at Sixth & Spruce Streets across from Balboa Park.
“Our annual BBQ has become a long-time tradition for locals and visitors after the parade during Pride weekend in San Diego,” says Henricks. For over 15 years, this event has provided funding to help support Special Delivery’s home-delivered meal service for San Diegans with life-threatening illnesse such as AIDS, heart disease, kidney disease and cancer, and to support Special Delivery’s onsite food pantry for San Diegans with life-threatening illnesses and those who’ve fallen on hard times. “After the LGBT Pride parade, we invite San Diego locals and visitors to the rooftop at the Inn at the Park to enjoy great views of the city as well as a delicious barbecue lunch including hamburgers, chicken sandwiches,veggie burgers, salads, and all the trimmings,” she adds.
All proceeds benefit clients of Special Delivery San Diego. Tickets for the BBQ can be purchased for $10 at the door.

Founded in 1991, Special Delivery prepares, packages and delivers fresh nutritious meals and provides groceries to people living with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses such as heart disease, cancer and kidney disease in San Diego. To date, the non-profit organization has delivered more than 1.6 million meals, provided thousands of bags of groceries and has served more than 5,000 clients.
