New LGBT film ‘Laurence Anyways’ opens in San Diego July 5 (VIDEO)

The Media Arts Center San Diego is presenting, Laurence Anyways, a drama that charts 10 years in a relationship of a male-to-female transexual’s relationship with her lover at their new 48-seat movie theatre in North Park running from the July 5-11.

Starring Melvil Poupaud and Suzanne Clément, Laurence Anyways tells the story of an impossible love between Frederique and her long-term boyfriend Laurence, a man who reveals his inner desire to become his true self, a woman. Set during the late 1980s and early 1990s, the story spans a decade, chronicling the doomed love of Fred and Laurence, as well as the trials and tribulations that they face.
