Perry Moore, executive producer of the “Chronicles of Narnia” film trilogy and co-writer and director of “Lake City,” was found dead in his home last Thursday morning.

According to the New York Daily News, Moore, 39, was unconscious when he was found by his partner Hunter Hill in the bathroom of their shared home. Responders pronounced Moore dead soon after arriving on the scene. While medical authorities did not determine the exact cause of death, sources report that Moore appears to have suffered an OxyContin overdose.

Bill Moore, the producer’s father, expressed his sadness and disbelief at his son’s death.

“We’re in shock,” he said. “No one was expecting this.”

Perry Moore and Hunter Hill co-wrote and directed the film “Lake City,” starring Sissy Spacek and Rebecca Romijn, and at the time of his death Moore was awaiting updates on a new screenplay. The “Chronicles of Narnia” trilogy, based on the novels by C.S. Lewis, grossed over $1.5 billion at the box office.

“We’re so sad,” Moore’s father said. “He’s been able to reach out and touch a lot of people.”
