SAN DIEGO– Take a trip back to the psychedelic ‘60s with your groovy hosts from the San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus (SDGMC). It will be a shimmering Summer of Love for everyone at their annual Encore Gala at Point Loma’s Liberty Station Saturday, June 15. All hippies – and hipsters – are welcome!
There will be live ‘60s music from San Diego’s multi-award-winning band Rockola, themed food from John Little Catering and both live and silent auctions. The highlight of the evening will be the live auction of an incredible San Francisco Pride Weekend Package with exclusive tickets to the new I Am Harvey Milk world premiere.
“This is going to be a really fun evening! We hope all our fans, friends and families come out and enjoy themselves while supporting a great arts organization,” said SDGMC Board President Cheri Curtis.
All proceeds from the Encore Gala benefit the chorus and its mission of creating a positive musical experience through exciting performances that engage audiences, build community support and provide a dynamic force for social change. The SDGMC has entertained San Diego audiences for nearly 30 years. With more than 150 members, it is one of the largest choruses of its type in the world.
Tickets for the Summer of Love event are $75 for general admission at 7 p.m. and $125 for special VIP tickets that includes preview admission at 6 p.m., open bar and other benefits. It will be held at the McMillin Company Event Center, 2875 Dewey Road, Liberty Station in Point Loma on the grounds of the former Naval Training Center.
