Nearly $10,000 was raised April 2 at Pastor Dan’s Birthday Bash fundraiser that is going toward the ministry programs at Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) in San Diego.
Approximately 125 people attended the evening event to honor Rev. Dan Koeshall at The LGBT Center in Hillcrest. MCC used to meet there before the church bought a building at 2633 Denver Street near Mission Bay in 2009.
Italian food was catered by Babbo’s Grande including two different kinds of birthday cake. People took turns at singing karaoke style and there was plenty of mingling. City Council President Todd Gloria made opening remarks.
The FAB team of volunteers at MCC planned the event. Koeshall was given four books and later participated in karaoke singing.
