LGBT community rallies in Cairo

EGYPT – In what appears to be a revolution in Egypt, the gay community has been called on to join the protests against President Mubarak.

Amid calls from pro-democracy demonstrators to hold massive protests against the President, GayEgypt.com posted this note on its site:

“Egypt’s gay and lesbian community has had enough of years of police brutality and torture and GayEgypt.com calls on all lesbians and gays to join their brothers and sisters on the street to peacefully express their demand for immediate change.”

As journalists continue to be targeted by pro-government thugs, the U.S. State Department has advised Americans to leave immediately.
