SAN DIEGO – Thursday, March 21, Dining Out for Life® San Diego will host its Food Truck Fierceness kick-off party in the parking lot of The San Diego LGBT Community Center, 3909 Centre St., from 5-8 p.m. Hundreds of people are expected to turn out for an evening that will feature some of San Diego’s hottest food trucks, an incredible beer garden, courtesy of Hillcrest Brewing Company, and the debut performance of San Diego’s Own “Dining Out Divas.”
The newly-formed Dining Out Divas have joined forces to not only perform “dragioke” at the kick-off party, but also to serve as honorary ambassadors for the day-long Dining Out for Life® San Diego event Thursday, April 25. The Dining Out Divas feature some of San Diego’s most entertaining and generous drag queens, including Paris Sukomi Max, Glitz Glam, Big Mama Mo and Shalita Buffet.
“We’ve joined forces for Dining Out for Life® to show people fighting HIV that they not only have our support, but they have our love and admiration,” said Paris Sukomi Max, performer with Dining Out Divas. “Community events like these always need cheerleaders and who’s better than a group of fabulous drag queens to do the cheering?!”
“We are thrilled to add another element of fun and festiveness to Dining Out for Life®,” said Ian Johnson, The Center’s Dining Out for Life® coordinator. “I’m certain that Dining Out Divas will provide unforgettable performances at our Food Truck Fierceness party, and the fact that they’re donating their tips will really help with this fundraising effort. We are completely grateful for their commitment and creativity.”
In addition to the generosity of the Dining Out Divas, the Food Truck Fierceness kick-off party will showcase delicious fare from nine amazing food trucks donating 25% of their sales that evening. The food trucks include Red Oven, Two For The Road, Mad Mantis Truck, Pearson’s Cajun, Burger Lounge,Not So Fast, Chop Soo.ey, Super Q and Under the Crust.
