The San Diego Latino Film Festival (SDLFF) will announce the winner of the 20th Anniversary Poster Competition at a special pre-festival event at the Noel-Baza Fine Art Gallery, 2165 India Street in San Diego, Wednesday Jan. 9, 6-8 p.m.
Film and art lovers are also invited to enjoy complimentary food, drinks and live music. Thai appetizers will be provided by Papaya Bay. The unveiling of the poster winner will be a warm-up for the upcoming SDLFF next March 7-17.
This year’s poster competition has received more than 120 entries from around the world. The Poster
Selection Committee has chosen 10 finalists that are currently competing for the grand prize.
The winning poster artist will receive a cash prize of $1,000.
The designers and artists of the 10 final posters include: Alejandro Franseschini, Juan Luis
Garcia, Diana Mota, Hugo Espinosa, Lupe Duarte, Sami Kähkönen, Tu Anh, and Ricardo
Vallejo.
This year’s Poster Selection Committee 2013 include: Nuvia Guerra, Artist; Franko Rosas,
Graphic Designer; Isaias Crow, Artist; Alessandra Moctezuma, Gallery Director – San Diego
Mesa College; Ana Brown, The Roots Factory; Bob Green, The Roots Factory; and Perry
Vasquez, Artist/Professor – Southwestern College.
SDLFF will celebrate its 20th Anniversary Edition March 7-17.
SDLFF is a prestigious and internationally recognized festival that celebrates films and
videos by Latinos and/or about the Latino experience, screening more than 160 works from across
Latin America and throughout the United States.
