Alright girls, it is that time of year again, when time is short and the to-do list is long. I have spent most evenings following Thanksgiving either lighting the tree or getting lit myself! Going from holiday party to holiday party or just trying to beat the crowds at the shopping malls. This girl hates having to fight with some Honey Boo Boo family member look-alike over a 40 percent discounted scarf at a department store.
How about trying to surf the net with all those supposedly great deals and then finally getting what you want only to realize they sent the wrong size or it never arrives in time.
I will tell you this, no matter how much there is to do or how little time there is to do it in, I really do love the holidays! It takes me back to when I was a child growing up in Tackysburgh, Texas. The smell of the fresh cut tree my daddy just downed from the neighbors yard; the glittering balls, silver tinsel and twinkling colored lights as the tree slowly rotated while playing Christmas music.
The presents beautifully wrapped with satin bows, neatly placed under the tree. The smell of fresh egg nog and lots of rum and my uncle Biff with his mistletoe hung from his belt trying to get all the ladies to kiss him on his “head!” Glad I only fell for that once. Oh, how I love the holidays!
As I was saying, I try not to spend all my time at the big chain stores as I do not like dealing with the crowds and the generic selection of gift items that nobody really needs.
So, when I find a gem of a store that can cater to all of my Trendy design gift ideas, I am all over it like Martha Stewart on a poncho!
So my little Trendy divas, I am going to let you in on a little secret I found this holiday season, if you haven’t found it already; and that is Cody’s Home & Gift Boutique, 142 University Ave. in Hillcrest, 619-269-7264.
The store has just opened and it is stocked with wonderful gift ideas, sassy little trinkets, perfect hostess gifts and home accent pieces that will make you the hit on everyone’s gift list this year!
I was in design heaven when I finally found my dear friend Scketchalina, who is a real diamond diva on a dollar store budget, the perfect center piece for her dining table. I can’t tell you what it is because it is a surprise!
So before you pack the car with your shopping survival kit of sanitary wipes and a bottle of Valium, you must swing by Cody’s and start your shopping there!
Then once the holidays are done, and you realize you’re in need of a new look for the New Year, have sweet, adorable Cody design your boudoir or any space that needs to be refreshed with his wonderful interior design services. I know I have some cozy little place he can help me redesign!
I have many fond memories as a child that will always keep that Christmas miracle close to my heart. Then there are the wonderful memories we get to make each year with the people that are near and dear to us; you all know who you are!
So before my fourth egg nog kicks in, I will say merry Christmas, happy Kwanzaa, happy Chanukah, and feliz Navidad to all my little Trendy design divas and may you all have a wonderful holiday and fabulous New Year. I look forward to seeing you all next year.
If you are still looking for more of the fabulous Mrs. Trendy Wendy, you will get to see me on Wednesday nights as I am honored to be joining the Golden Girls Revue at Club 1202, next year!
So follow me on Facebook at facebook.com/trenwen for all the latest updates. And always remember this during the holiday season, “All that glitters is a girl’s best friend!”
You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be actually something
which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for
me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the
hang of it!
