“Smart Vote 2012″
Temple Emanu-El is hosting two “Smart Vote” events—a candidate forum and a proposition seminar—to help the community make informed voting choices, say organizers.
The candidate forum will take place Sunday, Oct. 14. There will be a light brunch at 9:30 am, with the forum beginning promptly at 9:50 am. The moderator will be Katie Orr from KPBS. Among the candidates invited are San Diego mayoral candidates Carl DeMaio and Bob Filner, U.S. House of Representative California 52nd District candidates Brian Bilbray and Scott Peters, U.S. House of Representative California 53rd District candidates Susan Davis and Nick Popaditch, California State Senate 38th District candidates Marty Block and George Plescia, and California Superior Court Judge Department 25 candidates Robert Amador and Jim Miller. The suggested minimum donation (including brunch) is $10.00.
The proposition seminar will be on Tuesday, October 23, starting promptly at 7pm. The ballot presenter will be California Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher (75th District). He will speak to the pros and cons of each proposition. There will be no charge for the seminar, although donations will be accepted.
Temple Emanu-El is located at 6299 Capri Drive, off Interstate 8 at the College Avenue exit in San Diego, California.
