Author Lonnie Hewitt to lead interactive walk-talk at book fair

Kids, teens, and adults are invited to explore literature, writing and entertainment at the fourth annual San Diego County Library Book Festival. The Festival is taking place Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Encinitas Branch, 540 Cornish Drive, Encinitas 92024. This year’s theme is sports and features Lonnie Burstein Hewitt, co-author of Walking San Diego, who will be giving an interactive walk-talk at 3 p.m.

Born in Brooklyn in the first wave of the baby boom, Hewitt started walking early and has never stopped. For many years, she led walking classes and writing workshops around the county, and wrote about nature and travel for various publications.

“I am such a big fan of San Diego County Library,” said Hewitt. “As a speedy reader and avid movie-watcher, I make almost weekly visits to scout out interesting books and DVDs.”
