(CNN) — Actor Ed Helms is the latest celebrity to put his money where his mouth is.

“The Office” star has tweeted that he’s no longer a fan of fast food giant Chick-fil-A.

Helms made the choice after the restaurant chain’s president and CEO made it known that the company doesn’t support same-sex marriage in an interview with the Baptist Press.

He expressed his disagreement with their position via Twitter.

“Chick-fil-A doesn’t like gay people? So lame,” he tweeted Wednesday. “Hate to think what they do to the gay chickens! Lost a loyal fan.”

Chick-fil-A’s position has ruffled quite a few feathers.

In the interview with the Baptist Press, Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy said he’s “guilty as charged” when it comes to the eatery’s “support of the traditional family.”

“We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit,” Cathy said. “We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that … we know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles,” he added.

Helms is far from being alone in his dismay: The gay rights campaign NOH8 – backed by “Glee” actress Jane Lynch, Deepak Chopra, Miley Cyrus, Lindsay Lohan and the Kardashian sisters – also called for a boycott earlier this year.

  1. That’s ok Ed. You go ahead and cross Chick-Fil-A off your Christmas list right along with Rahm Emmanuel and Boston’s mayor too. There are literally millions of us out here that will cross you off ours. Chick-Fil-A has never once said they don’t like gay people. He said, “We know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles,” BTW, he says he doesn’t support same sex marriage. I see no bigotry, and NOH8red in his comments. It seems to be ok to make remarks like yours with the gay chicken, but you folks jump to victim status and start screaming bigot, racist, Nazi, whenever you hear a comment you don’t like. I won’t lose any sleep knowing NOH8 is supported by Miley Cyrus,Lindsay Lohan and the Kardashian sisters. Never cared for them anyway. I don’t watch Glee and don’t care to know Deepak Chopra, Jane Lynch. All mediocre talent, so why even list them like they are the great Boycott movement?

    1. You sir, are a pathetic moron.
This restaurant is crap, and openly promotes bigoted values.
I love how that zoning board in Chicago just denied them the privilege of setting up shop.
Saying that you don’t support gay marriage IS bigoted.
So, management had better “suck it up” and at least pretend to not be bigots, if they want to not have America hate them.
This is no different than the opposition to interracial marriage.
Exactly the same arguments are used.
People who were opposed to interracial marriage said they weren’t racists, they just cared about children of such a marriage.
      So, you should feel ashamed.
In 20 years, you’re not going to be able to openly admit that you were against gay marriage.
