Each year The San Diego LGBT Community Center celebrates the birthday of Frida Kahlo, commemorating the legendary life of one of the most influential Mexican painters of the mid-twentieth century. The event, Pachanga de Frida, will be Saturday June 30, 6-10 p.m. at 3909 Centre Street in San Diego. Tickets are $15 in advance (available at The Center or Vintage Religion), or $20 at the door. There will be a live salsa band, traditional Mexican dance performance, multiple art exhibits by local Latin artists and vendors, a Frida look-a-like contest, food and tequila.
