It’s official. The newest Carrie Bradshaw, the beloved leading lady in HBO’s “Sex and the City,” is AnnaSophia Robb – the teen sweetheart who starred in “Soul Surfer,” “Bridge to Terabithia,” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” – and Sarah Jessica Parker has given her blessing says the Huffington Post.
“She sent me a letter! I wrote her one back, too,” Robb, told Us Weekly. “She was just very encouraging about it all. It was really cool!”
The new pilot is based on Candace Bushnell’s prequel to the hit show dubbed “The Carrie Diaries.” Producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage will head up the series, joining Former “Sex and the City” co-producer and writer Amy B. Harris.
Darren Star and Michael Patrick King – original creators of the HBO series – are not involved with the pilot.
“The Carrie Dairies,” if chosen as a frontrunner for the 2012-2013 season, will air on The CW.
