gay news - San Diego George Clooney may be the Sexiest Man Alive, but that doesn’t stop The Descendants star from debunking gay rumors that pop up now and again. The Oscar-winner talks to The Advocate this week about gay gossip, standing firm on his position that he doesn’t care if people think he is gay.

“Who does it hurt if someone thinks I’m gay? I’ll be long dead and there will still be people who say I was gay. I don’t give a sh*t,” the actor said.

On same-sex marriage, Clooney explains it is “the final leg of the civil rights movement” and reiterated that “every time we’ve stood against equality, we’ve been on the wrong side of history.”

Clooney offered praise for Neil Patrick Harris and applauded the actor’s ability to transcend stereotypes on being gay in Hollywood.

“He’s a big star on a hit show, and no one’s telling him he can’t play a straight womanizer,” Clooney said. “I use Neil as an example because I’ve spent time with him and I like him a lot.”

The Ides of March actor added that gay rumors don’t bother him because it would be ‘unfair and unkind’ to his close friends who are homosexual.

“I think it’s funny, but the last thing you’ll ever see me do is jump up and down saying, ‘These are lies!’ That would be unfair and unkind to all my friends in the gay community,” Clooney said.

The 50-year-old heartthrob has been previously linked to Italian TV presenter Elisabetta Canalis and British model Lisa Snowden. Current flame, former WWE wrestler Stacey Keibler, who attended this year’s Oscars with Clooney, has dated the actor for over a year.
