Museum Month
Museum Month is back for the 23rd year in San Diego County. Presented by Macy’s, this popular event allows participants to enjoy half-off entry fees at 40 San Diego Museum Council member museums. Museum Month Passes may be picked up starting Feb. 1 at any of Macy’s fourteen locations in the San Diego Area, Temecula and Imperial Valley. The passes are free to obtain while supplies last. With a pass, up to four visitors can gain admission to any of the 40 participating museums for half-price. Plus, you can use the pass all month long!

The Harlem Globetrotters

The Screwtape Letters
The Screwtape Letters is a smart, provocative and wickedly funny theatrical adaptation of the C.S. Lewis novel about spiritual warfare from a demon’s point of view. The play, set in a eerily stylish office in hell, follows the clever scheming of Satan’s chief psychiatrist, Screwtape, as he entices a human ‘patient’ toward damnation. In this topsy-turvy, morally inverted universe God is the “Enemy” and the devil is “Our Father below.” The stakes are high as human souls are hell’s primary source of food.

Circus Vargas
Tabares Entertainment joins forces with famed singing Ringmaster Kevin Venardos for a production of musical magnitude in its most exciting, innovative edition ever! Acting as host and master of ceremonies, Venardos skillfully melds melody with movement, adds a bit of Broadway and a splash of razzle-dazzle for an unbelievably entertaining extravaganza! Singing an original score he himself conceived in conjunction with talented composer and lyricist, Larry Lees, Venardos adds an additional dimension to an already amazing cast of performers and sets the stage and premise for this clever production.

Golden Child
Chinese Pirate Productions teams with the 10th Avenue Theatre and the San Diego Chinese Center for a joint presentation of Golden Child , by David Henry Hwang. A patriarch returns to his traditional Chinese polygamist home, bringing his new found western ideologies he has adopted while away on business. Though these Christian values clash with the Confucian Order that governs his household, they would allow Eng Tieng-Bin to follow his heart, turning his beloved “Third Wife” into his only wife.
His traditionalist first wife, power hungry second wife, idealistic third wife and prized eldest daughter, the “Golden Child,” must struggle to either maintain the existing power structure, or adapt to a very quickly changing world.

Moby Dick
This world premiere is based on Herman Melville’s 19th century literary masterpiece, Moby-Dick, exploring the lethal power of obsession and the need for human connection and understanding in an increasingly multicultural world; one filled with mysterious encounters, exotic characters and one man’s quest for a white whale that leaves death and destruction in its wake. The actions of this large and emotionally irresistible work are played out against a multimedia-enriched staging that ranges from striking to near miraculous. Using dazzling computer-generated effects, the visual impact of Moby-Dick pulls you into the action from the first chord of the achingly beautiful music.

Jon Anderson: The voice of Yes
Jon Anderson is one of the most recognizable voices in progressive rock. Anderson is best known as the lead vocalist and creative driving force behind the band, Yes. He co-wrote several of the band’s greatest hits including, “Owner of a Lonely Heart,” “Roundabout” and “I’ve Seen All Good People.” Most recently, Anderson has been touring the USA and Europe. He released his latest album, Survival & Other Stories, June 14, 2011 on Voiceprint Records.
