Archbishop Carl Bean, author of “I Was Born This Way” and an openly gay Black preacher who founded the Unity Fellowship Church Movement, will serve as co-host for LGBT & Allies All Families Matter Fundraiser for Pat Washington, candidate for California’s 79th Assembly on Feb. 19.
When told of Washington’s decision to run for the 79th Assembly seat, Archbishop Bean emailed her, “Press on, daughter, press on. Whatever God has placed in your heart to do for the betterment of the human family will come to pass.”
The fundraiser is hosted by Lt. Gary Ross and Dan Ross, first gay couple to wed in the military, & Jimmy Slaff-Gruel and Carl Gruel, first gay couple to wed in Chula Vista.
