The state of Indiana has set a new bar of awareness by introducing LGBT-themed license plates which will debut in February.
The new plates feature six hands in each of the rainbow colors to include one each of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple – the same logo used for the Indiana Youth Group, an organization responsible for providing LGBT training in schools and service agencies.
The Indiana Youth Group applied for the plates twice before, but received rejection in light of failing to “show its services [had] a statewide impact.”
Plates cost $40 in addition to regular vehicle licensure and registration costs.
