Several months into what’s becoming an increasingly anticipated monthly exhibition of art by local LGBT and allied artists at the sleek offices of San Diego LGBT Pride (you know; the folks who put on the Pride parade and festival) in North Park, painter Jonathan Williams, also of North Park, wooed a modestly sized crowd of art lovers, last week.
Williams’ “Sometimes I Paint Myself” series was well received by those in attendance, and is a precursor to the artist’s “Beards” series, which will feature a cast of local characters who sport generous amounts of facial hair.
“He’s pretty talented,” said David Sparling of Ocean Beach. “And I think it’s great that Pride is doing this every month. I’m looking forward to seeing who they’ll have next.”
