The anti-bullying campaign, Amplify Your Voice, sponsored by GLAAD and the American Federation of Teachers will feature Dancing with the Stars competitor Chaz Bono and Jersey Shore’s Vinny Guadagnino.
The message will aim to encourage youth about the acceptance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.
“Millions of gay and transgender youth are made to feel like they don’t fit in everyday. Some even feel unsafe,” says Chaz Bono in the video. Vinny chimes in, “No matter who you are, you have the power to make a difference.”
Naya Rivera is also featured in the video.
Other stars that have used the fame for a good cause on behalf of the LGBT community include Amy Poehler, Kristin Chenoweth, Rashida Jones, Shay Mitchell, Tori Spelling, and Ariel Winter.
The video’s timing is well-placed since Spirit Day is celebrated October 20 – a day where allies and LGBT activists can wear purple to support gay youth.
