K-Y Brand personal lubricant has made its first commercial featuring a lesbian couple. The commercial for K-Y Brand Intense is currently airing on U.S. television. The company describes the product as, “a uniquely formulated arousal gel to heighten female sensitivity and satisfaction – a gel that has women saying ‘it makes sex more satisfying.’”
The commercial shows couple Alex and Emma talking about their relationship.
As Alex says good communication has kept them together, Emma announces that K-Y Intense has also helped stating, “It makes that big moment feel like nothing we’ve ever felt before.”
Finally the commercial cuts to an “after scene” with Alex saying, “Good purchase!”
Pink News reported a spokesman for the brand as saying, “Since 1998, K-Y Brand has sponsored dozens of LGBT and HIV/AIDS organizations and has also participated at LGBT Pride celebrations and other community events. Gay male couples have been featured in print advertising since 2008 and now the brand is continuing its tradition of support and visibility with advertising that is inclusive of lesbian couples.”
