South Bay Alliance presents the South Bay Pride and Music Festival, this Saturday, Aug. 20. The festival opens at noon at Memorial Park (373 Park Way in Chula Vista), and the festival continues until 7 p.m.
Highlights include a wine and beer garden, a children’s garden, an art exhibit, organization and vendor booths, raffle and live entertainment. The grand opening celebration features the San Diego Women’s Drum Circle.
Join Laura Jane as emcee along with non-stop music and entertainment performers, including Rhythm and the Method, Danielle LoPresti and the Masses, Roxy Blue and the Handful, Tori Roze and the Hot Mess, Todo Mundo, the San Diego Drag Kings Club and the San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus. Plus laugh to comedy by Laugh Out Proud with comedians, Sean Wherley, Sarah Burford, Star Dell’era and Jiavani Linayao.
There are several opportunity drawings throughout the day, with the grand prize being premier tickets to the Blink 182 and My Chemical Romance concert on Oct. 6 at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater in Chula Vista.
Admission to the festival is free, but a $5 donation is requested.
