Luna Grill – fast casual Mediterranean restaurant featuring all-fresh, high-quality, wholesome, made-to-order Mediterranean fare – has just opened its doors for business on its fourth restaurant. The newest location is in the Hillcrest area of San Diego, at 350 University Ave. at Fourth Avenue.
“The Hillcrest community has been one of the friendliest so far,” said Sean Pourteymour, CEO of Luna Grill. “It’s because of the communities that support us and are so loyal to us that we have been able to grow the way we have. We’re humbled by it and extremely appreciative.”
The 2,000-square-foot restaurant seats 48 people inside and 52 people in a large patio area outside and employs more than 20 people.
Luna Grill was founded six years ago when Pourteymour’s wife, Maria, became concerned that the couple’s children weren’t getting healthy nutrition when they ate out, so she decided to create a menu that would be healthy enough to feed their kids every day.
“We prepare our own dressings, marinades and cook our own food from scratch,” said Maria Pourteymour, chief cuisine officer of Luna Grill. “Don’t expect your order to come out in three minutes because it won’t. You won’t have to wait long for it though, and when you get it, it will be delivered on real china and it will be fresh, all natural and completely nutritious. I wouldn’t serve anything at Luna Grill that I wouldn’t serve my own family.”
