Teen singer and former Disney star Miley Cyrus has taken a strong stand in favor of marriage equality in recent months, vocalizing her frustration with discriminatory business and practices via Twitter. Now, the 18-year-old has taken her advocacy to another level – and selected a new a tattoo designed in part to promote the validity of same-sex marriage and equal rights.
Access Hollywood reports that Cyrus unveiled her new tattoo – that of an equal sign, located on her finger – by way of a Twitter update Friday.
“ALL LOVE is equal,” the pop star wrote alongside a picture of the tattooed image.
Cyrus’ increasingly public activism on behalf of LGBT equality has garnered significant attention from fans – some of whom object to the singer’s stance. In response to one fan’s criticism, Miley tweeted, “Where does it say in the Bible to judge others?”
“Oh right. It doesn’t,” she continued. “GOD is the only judge honey. ‘GOD is love.’”
Cyrus’s equality tattoo is the latest among several others sported by the singer, including a dreamcatcher, a heart, an anchor and the words “Just Breathe.”
