On the heels of New York’s recent gay marriage legislation, Parkview Developers has announced plans to open the city’s first gay hotel. Aptly named The Out NYC, the hotel will feature a number of unique amenities specifically tailored for the LGBT community.

The Boston Globe reports that the gay-centric hotel is set for construction on Manhattan’s 42nd Street, and will boast 105 rooms, an 11,000 square foot night club, and a café-style restaurant called “Kitchen.” Current plans show the complex nestled in the center of 3 courtyards, with a conference center, private event space, and 5,000-square-foot wellness center on-site.

Ian Reisner, Managing Partner of Parkview Developers, explained that the hotel’s “comfort level and tailored amenities” set it apart from every other hotel in the city. “This is an idea whose time has come,” said Reisner. “The Out NYC will become a ‘can’t-miss’ for gay tourists as well as the epicenter of gay life for LGBT New Yorkers.”

Developers noted that the hotel will host a variety of private events, including conferences, dinner parties and – now that gay couples can legally marry in the state of New York – weddings.  As Reisner noted, The Out NYC “looks forward not only to hosting countless gay couples, but marrying them as well.”
