Art of Pride, a volunteer arts group dedicated to the promotion and encouragement of San Diego’s LGBTQ arts community, will host its 7th annual art display showcasing local talent during the city’s 2011 Pride festivities.
All are welcome to attend an unveiling reception and meet the exhibition’s featured artists at the San Diego LGBT Pride offices in North Park on Saturday, July 9 from 6-9 pm.
This year’s Pride exhibition will feature a wealth of local artists including Eric Cantrell, William Allen Jacobson, Petyr Cinno, Devon Browning Richard Chau Davis, Vivienne Elaine Cortes, John Keasler and Mandy Huyler. Each artist will have a booth inside the festival area during Pride weekend (July 16 and 17), and some will also join regional artists in a juried competition judged by San Diego art dealer Alexander Salazar. Prizes include both ribbons and cash awards, and will be announced at a reception on the eve of Pride festival kickoff events.
Join Art of Pride at San Diego’s LGBT Pride Festival: the exhibition area will be located in the upper level of the Festival grounds and provide attendees with a calm and inspiring area within which to relax, converse and enjoy the city’s most talented LGBTQ artists.
