SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Turn off the 24-hour news cycle and take a break from Twitter to come laugh and raise money for a great cause! Join the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN) San Diego County Chapter for a night of fun and laughter at its fourth annual Comedy “Fun”draiser. Proceeds go to support GLSEN’s work to create inclusive classrooms and safe schools for all. The event will take place Thursday, August 10 at 4545 Park Blvd. The evening begins with a complimentary wine and cheese reception at 7 pm. Enjoy delicious wine, tasty cheese, and great conversation followed by a night of hilarious stand-up comedy at 8 pm.
Tickets are only $25 and can be purchased at the door, on Eventbrite at tiny.cc/GLSENComedy2017 and from a GLSEN board member.
Returning as the host for the evening is GLSEN San Diego County Co-Chair and local comedian Chet Sewell. Sewell will be joined by some of San Diego’s finest comedians including Sarah Burford, Manish Gupta, Maria Herman, Jaleesa Johnson, Remington Scott Kienbusch, and Leah Mansfield.
All proceeds from the event will go toward advancing GLSEN San Diego County’s work to support local high school Gay Straight Alliances, empower its Jump-Start Student Leadership Team, conduct trainings with local teachers, staff, and administrators on how to create safe schools for all students and provide schools with inclusive curriculum.
