Today, Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to “ensure the rights” of LGBTQ men following the attacks and reported concentration camps happening in Chechnya. Following this breaking news, GLAAD issued the following tweets calling on President Donald Trump to publicly condemn these attacks on the LGBTQ community in Chechnya.
Trump has been silent on this issue so far – even after GLAAD asked the president to issue a public statement on this humanitarian crisis.
