San Diego Imperial Court Coronation draws LGBT royalty from all over the U.S.A., Canada and Mexico

Saturday at the Handlery Hotel, The Imperial Court de San Diego, San Diego’s oldest LGBT organization, celebrated its 45th coronation in grand style. The occasion drew LGBT royalty from all over the U.S.A., Canada and Mexico as Emperor 45 Jay and Empress 45 Angel were installed.

The Mexican Consul General honored the Imperial Court for more than 30 years of work with  AIDS/HIVagencies in Tijuana.

“San Diego was proud to have hosted the meeting of the International Imperial Court Council, the governing body of the International Imperial Court System, this weekend and the launching of a civil rights arm of the Imperial Court System: The National GLBT Network U.S.A.,” said City Commissioner Nicole Murray Ramirez who attended in the capacity of Queen Mother of the Americas.

” I am very proud of our past monarchs, especially Emperor Summer who is the third lesbian to reign over the court,” continued Ramirez. “The 44th reign raised over $90,000.”
