SAN DIEGO — The San Diego LGBT Community Center has announced that the 11th annual Dining Out for Life® San Diego will take place on Thursday, April 27.
Dining Out for Life® draws thousands of participants to some of San Diego’s most generous restaurants and bars, all of which have agreed to donate 25-100 percent of their food and liquor sales on that day. Those contributions support local HIV services and prevention programs at The Center. Everyone can take part in this event by dining out with family and friends for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner at the participating establishments on April 27.
““For 11 years now, Dining Out for Life has united our community in the such a positive way. The diversity of people who generously participate illustrates a collective, unwavering commitment to supporting those impacted by HIV and preventing further infections,” said Dr. Delores A. Jacobs, chief executive officer of The Center. The Center produces the annual event. “Committed restaurant owners and managers, our volunteer Ambassadors and all those who dine out have made this an opportunity for the entire community to unite, enjoy a meal together and support this fundraising event. We are deeply appreciative of the enthusiastic support.”
“Dining Out for Life is a fun and powerful way for San Diegans to support life-changing HIV services and prevention programs,” said Ian Johnson, The Center’s director of development. “By dining out with friends, family, co-workers, and/or teammates on April 27, we create an opportunity to talk openly about HIV and show how much we care about being the generation to end HIV as we know it. I invite everyone to make plans now to join us as a volunteer, diner or participating restaurant for this truly inspiring day.”
