
SAN DIEGO – St. Paul’s Cathedral will host Lighting the Way, a remembrance of the Sandy Hook victims Wednesday, Dec. 14, 4:30 – 8:00 p.m. The public is welcome to attend this program that will focus on the many victims of gun violence and a challenge to respond and commit to ending gun violence in America.
Participate in this nationwide vigil for the victims of Sandy Hook, Orlando, and all victims of gun violence. The vigil will start at 4:30 p.m. with a rally on Fifth and Sixth Avenues. At 6 p.m., there will be a memorial service in the Cathedral, which will be followed by a reception in the Great Hall. The memorial service will include music, an invocation from Dean Penny, as well as a prayer and blessing from Bishop Mathes.
Speakers will include Chris Ward, councilmember-elect for District 3; Rabbi Laurie Coskey, United Way of San Diego; Imam Taha Hassane, Islamic Society of San Diego and Rev. Dan Koeshall, Metropolitan Community Church of San Diego.
