Legal.io introduces the LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York’s lawyer referral network

Legal.io, the leading developer of referral-network and marketplace technology for the legal services industry, has launched a partnership with the LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York (“LeGaL”). The organization’s lawyer referral network and pro bono panels will be powered by Legal.io’s state-of-the-art marketplace infrastructure, bringing on-demand access to legal services to the LGBT community in the greater New York City area.

Legal.io has launchd its technology with an organization dedicated to serving the LGBT community. As a company founded by attorneys, the values of diversity and equality are core to Legal.io’s mission, based on a conviction that these values drive empathy, creativity, and innovation, which in turn lay the foundation for a better tomorrow.

A statement on Legal.io’s Web site read: “In the past two years our country has witnessed both triumphs and heartaches in the LGBT community, from the Supreme Court Decision in Obergefell v. Hodges to the recent, horrific night-club shooting in Orlando. Meanwhile, all around the world, the arc of history bends towards equal rights for the LGBT community, from marriage and parenthood, to workplace and housing discrimination. During this unique window of history, Legal.io is proud to be partnering with LeGaL to provide the LGBT community with modern, streamlined access to competent attorneys who have demonstrated their support for the LGBT community through membership of LeGaL.

“This innovative partnership combines a perfect complement of skill-sets: the deep legal service delivery expertise of LeGaL and its members, and the legal technology of Legal.io. While this project has and will continue to have a positive impact on the LGBT community in Greater New York, it also exists as a blueprint for any affinity organization to set up trusted referral networks that democratize access to legal services.”

“With the Legal.io platform, we are delivering the world’s first out-of-the-box solution for legal referral,” said Tony Lai, CEO and Co-Founder of Legal.io. “Our platform empowers legal organizations of any size to easily establish modern, streamlined access points to the legal system for consumers. What’s more, the platform integrates powerful workflows and outcome-data collection methods that support continued, competent and professional legal service delivery.”

As evidenced by this partnership, Legal.io’s vision for a better legal services market is a decentralized one. Building a future where there are tens of thousands of trusted entry points to the legal system fundamentally differentiates this community-based legal service delivery model from the Uber-style business models pursued by companies such as Avvo and RocketLawyer.

Looking forward, Legal.io will continue its role as a trusted partner to the legal industry, by building an interconnected, nationwide ecosystem of trusted institutions orchestrating networks of independent lawyers.
