SAN DIEGO, Calif. The 85-voice-strong San Diego Women’s Chorus (SDWC) announced Friday that their fall concert, Everything She Touches, will be performed Saturday Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. and Sunday Nov. 20 at 4 p.m. The concerts will take place at the beautiful state-of-the-art CPMA Theatre in Clairemont (5050 Conrad Ave., 92117). Attendees are invited to a pre-show reception one hour prior prior to showtime each day, where they can enjoy food, drinks, and a chance to win opportunity drawing baskets. Tickets are now on sale here.

Filled with powerful songs, Everything She Touches celebrates standing up for our beliefs and supporting each other to make a better society for everyone. “Everything She Touches is about our relationship to each other and the environment that surround us. Sometimes powerfully and sometimes tenderly, our music will explore our role as weavers of the intrinsically interconnected web of the world,” states Artistic Director Kathleen Hansen.

A beautiful tapestry of varied musical genres, poignant messages and stirring emotions, the concert will keep minds engaged and ears delighted. Audiences will be treated to beloved favorites from Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks and the Beatles, dance along in their seats to pop songs from Walk The Moon and Imagine Dragons, hear gorgeous compositions by Ysaye Barnwell and Joan Szymko, and experience lively melodies from Brazil and Uganda.

The San Diego Women’s Chorus also announced the California premiere of Glenda and Lauree: There are Certain Kinds of Love That Never Die, inspired by the true-life story of Glenda Elliott and the love she shared with a woman named Lauree in 1940s Georgia, a time and place that offered no role models for loving someone of the same sex. Now in her 70s, Ms. Elliott first shared her memories through the popular NPR program StoryCorps. After hearing the segment on the radio, Gerald Gurss, the director of One Voice Charlotte in North Carolina, was immediately inspired to put her words to music for his mixed voice chorus. He has now created a beautiful arrangement for women’s voices, specifically for the San Diego Women’s Chorus, which will premiere at Everything She Touches.

Tickets for Everything She Touches are on sale now and can be purchased at www.sdwc.org or https://sdwc.ticketleap.com/everything-she-touches. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door and discounted tickets are available for youth, students, seniors, military, and disabled patrons. Both performances will be ASL-interpreted for deaf and hard-of-hearing audience members.
