St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral in San Diego invites all dogs, cats, lizards, birds and four-legged creatures to come to the cathedral with their human companions for the annual Blessing of the Animals celebration in honor of St. Francis this Sunday, Oct. 2.
The Blessing of the Animals celebration is at 10:30 a.m. All animals, big and small, are welcome. It is also bring your friend to church day, so please invite friends and family! Musician Pavel Chvistek’s Polish bluegrass band will play before, during, and after the service.
Last year over 100 four-legged creatures received a blessing from the priests at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral and many also took their place at the side of their human companions at the Eucharist altar.
