The Hillcrest Wind Ensemble presents Fall Classics Saturday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 4190 Front St. in Hillcrest.
The ensemble will be featuring light classical pieces interspersed with premier performances of the three winning contemporary pieces from this year’s national composition contest. The night will include the Sunrise and On the Trail movements from Grofe’s Grand Canyon Suite as well as a grand salute to Scotland with the suite from The Hymn of the Highland.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door and can be purchased online at sdartstix.com/Fall-Classics or at The Windsmith, 3875 Granada Ave. in North Park.
