
ORLANDO, Fla. – On the eve of the two-month anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub massacre, presidential candidate Donald Trump will join U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio at a radical anti-LGBTQ event in Orlando. Equality Florida, joined by community partners and individuals directly impacted by the shooting, will gather Thursday, Aug. 11 for a peaceful rally and press conference to demand an end to the hate and violence perpetuated by Donald Trump, Sen. Marco Rubio, and the religious extremists responsible for the event.
The rally will take place outside of the Orange County Convention Center – South Concourse, 9809 International Dr, in Orlando from 11 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.
“On the two-month anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub shooting, we are outraged that Donald Trump and Sen. Rubio have the audacity to headline an extremist anti-LGBTQ event in Orlando,” stated Equality Florida in a press release. “In the midst of our grief, we demand an end to hatred and bigotry of all kinds, call for the passage of fully inclusive anti-discrimination protections for LGBTQ people, and urge our elected officials to support common sense gun violence prevention measures to honor the 49 lives cut short by hatred.”
