The Metropolitan Community Church bid farewell Sunday to Pam Raptis who will be joining her partner Alisan Rowland who is now the pastor of the MCC in New Orleans.
A certificate of appreciation was given to Raptis for her 21 years of service to MCC that included various roles including board of directors for 11 years.
“She’ll be reunited with her love,” said Senior Pastor Dan Koeshall.
“We’re going to miss you and we know this will be your church home, (away from) home,” said Koeshall.
Alisan Rowland became pastor in New Orleans two years ago, but Raptis stayed here while working for San Diego County as an environmental health specialist. She recently retired after 27 years.
Raptis served as a Rainbow Sunday School teacher for children and also did Scripture readings during services. She also helped in church fundraising, being an usher and served on various committees and outreaches.
