Help create safe schools at GLSEN San Diego County’s third annual comedy ‘Fun’draiser

GLSEN FundraiserSAN DIEGO — Raising money for a great cause has never been more enjoyable! Join the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN) San Diego County Chapter for a night of fun and laughter. GLSEN San Diego County is hosting its third annual Comedy “Fun”draiser to raise money to support inclusive classrooms and safe schools for all. This 21 and up event will take place Thursday, August 4 at 4545 Park Blvd., home of the historic Diversionary Theatre. The evening begins with a complimentary wine and cheese reception at 7 pm, followed by a night of hilarious stand-up comedy at 8 pm.

Tickets are only $20 and can be purchased in advance at tiny.cc/GLSENComedy or at the door (depending on availability).

The host for the evening is GLSEN San Diego County Co-Chair and local comedian Chet Sewell. Sewell will be joined by some of San Diego’s top stand-up comedians including Emily H. Allyn, Sarah Burford, Michael Castleberry, Jaleesa Johnson and Brandon Potter.

All proceeds from the event will go toward supporting GLSEN San Diego County’s work to aid area high school Gay Straight Alliances, empower its Jump-Start Student Leadership Team, conduct trainings with local teachers, staff, and administrators on creating safe schools for all students and provide schools with inclusive curriculum.

GLSEN strives to assure that each member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.
