Front Runners & Walkers San Diego today announced the date of their annual PRIDE 5k Run and Walk. This event will be held Saturday, July 16 with a start time of 9:30 a.m. This is a 5k race and walk held on a USAT&F Sanctioned and Certified course sponsored by Front Runners & Walkers San Diego. The run is a great event that and held as a San Diego Pride kick-off event along the parade route in Hillcrest.
With the recent tragedy of young LGBT teens being driven to suicide, suffering physical and psychological bullying at school and trying to cope with rejection by family, friends and even their churches, we have selected The San Diego Center’s Youth Housing Project as this year’s beneficiary. This program is a vital safety net giving teens a safe place to live and an opportunity to get the education and skills needed to lead productive and fulfilling lives. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to San Diego Pride Community Grants.
