Starting a new restaurant can be exhilarating and stressful.  Yet, in spite of opening just last month, Eric and Lindsey Fillion, owners of “Pardon My French Bar & Kitchen,” felt especially compelled to support Dining Out For Life® San Diego.

“Our next-door neighbors told us about Dining Out For Life and asked us if we would support the event,” said Lindsey Fillion. “Since we just opened, I had a brief moment of thinking, ‘Can we afford to do this?’ But, very quickly I knew we had to do this. This event is so important.”pardon my french.png

In addition to wanting to help the fight against HIV and support the community, Fillion also has a personal reason to be a part of the event. She lost her favorite uncle, Ricky Trask, to AIDS in the late 1980s and she has never forgotten him and his struggle.

Fillion is inspired by the idea that Dining Out for Life helps support The Center’s #BeTheGeneration campaign. This effort is working to end new HIV infections through education, HIV testing and increasing access to
the most effective HIV pardon my french drink.jpgmedications.

“When my uncle got sick, the only treatment was AZT and it was so hard on him. I love the idea that we are finally making progress with new HIV medications to stop this disease, ” Fillion said. “It feels like we have a light at the end of tunnel because of these medical steps and soon we will have a straight-out cure.”

Not only does Fillion bring a personal commitment to Dining Out for Life, but one look at the “Pardon My French” menu and you know it will be an incredible place to dine out on Thurs., April 28.  The restaurant features hearty French-California cuisine and a dazzling wine list.

“My favorite entree is our Steak Frites, but our Moroccan Braised Lamb Shank receives rave reviews,” said Fillion. “We have an amazing wine list that I believe is the best in San Diego. For those who adventurous, I recommend our Blood of the Scorpion craft cocktail.”
