SAN DIEGO – San Diego local, Jeremy Sicile-Kira, a non-verbal autistic artist with synesthesia—a condition where he sees letters, words and emotions in color—will have his first curated solo art exhibit, Inner Dimensions, from Monday, April 11 – Saturday, April 23. The show is taking place during Autism Awareness Month and is being held at Space4Art, 325 15th Street in San Diego, Calif. Opening night is from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, April 11 at the gallery.

“My truly great ability is to read people’s emotions and translate them in my dreams into glorious paintings, realizing their true self,” said Sicile-Kira. “My ability to paint the colors I see in my dreams is the greatest gift I have. I frankly greatly hope my paintings inspire only the good in people.”

For years Sicile-Kira had dreams that he was painting the emotions of people he met into colorful portraits. In August 2012, he began to communicate to others about his dreams and his desire to paint them. Now, Jeremy meets people in person or online, ‘reads’ their colors and then paints to recreate the portrait envisioned while dreaming.

“Truly my intention is to share my talent and gift with the world, and to help people by reading their emotions and painting for them a brighter future,” said Sicile-Kira.

All of Sicile-Kira’s paintings represent a range of experiences and people seen through his unique visual processing. Some of Sicile-Kira’s pieces that will be included in the exhibition are: The Colors of Mom’s Mexican Vacation, The Beautiful Colors of James Van Praagh and His Spirit, and The Mighty Couple of Massimo and Serena.

Sicile-Kira was highlighted on MTV’s documentary series True Life in the episode “I Have Autism,” which was the recipient of a 2007 Voice Award. Sicile-Kira’s attempts to communicate using assistive technology in order to make friends was considered the second most inspirational moment out of nearly 300 True Life Episodes (watch it here).

The Inner Dimensions exhibition at Space4Art will be open from Monday, April 11 – Saturday, April 23. Gallery hours are WednesdaySaturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
