SACRAMENTO— Assembly Speaker Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego) has appointed Bob Nelson of San Diego to serve on the California Film Commission, which encourages the growth of one of the state’s key economic generators.
“Bob Nelson has long contributed his talents to the San Diego community, ably promoting both our region and our waterfront,” said Atkins in a statement. “I’m confident he will be a strong and determined advocate for keeping film and television productions in California, as we continue to work to create and retain jobs in our most iconic industry.”
Nelson has served in a variety of roles in San Diego, including his membership on the Port District board and as chair of the San Diego Convention Center Corp. and the San Diego LGBT Community Center.
