Estonia’s gay partnership law takes effect, but not really!

Friday, a law allowing gay partnerships took effect in Estonia  but … not really as same-sex couples are being advised to hold off on getting hitched until a series of legal issues have been worked out, reports The Huffington Post.

The confusion arose when the Estonian Chamber of Notaries said there are legal uncertainties related to divorce, inheritance and other practical matters that need to be cleared up and for that reason the chamber has advised same-sex couples to wait.

Quite when that will happen remains to be seen.
