Officers won’t be charged in Tamir Rice’s death

400 days after Tamir Rice was killed while playing in a Cleveland park an Ohio grand jury has declined to indict the Cleveland police officer who fatally shot the unarmed black 12-year-old, reports The Huffington Post.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy J. McGinty announced the decision Monday afternoon.

Rookie patrolman Timothy Loehmann shot Rice after responding to the scene with veteran officer Frank Garmback. The grand jury also declined to indict Garmback.
