The San Diego Police Officers Association (SDPOA) will be teaming up with San Diego LGBT Weekly, North Park Community Association, Hillcrest Town Council, Gaslamp Quarter Association, San Diego Downtown Partnership, and San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce for an upcoming candidate forum for San Diego City Council, District 3 featuring Chris Ward and Anthony Bernal. The event, which is open to the public, will be held at the historic Old Globe Theatre in Balboa Park Monday, Dec. 7 at 6:30pm.
“There are a number of issues and problems our city will face over the next several years, and we’d like to give candidates the opportunity to share their vision for the future of San Diego and District 3,” said Brian Marvel, President of the SDPOA. “We are appreciative of the various co-sponsors who have agreed to become part of this event, and we expect a strong turnout from members of the public.”
“The San Diego City Council has no greater responsibility than keeping people safe,” said Anthony Bernal. “I look forward to working to improve public safety if I am elected to the City Council and I am excited to have this opportunity to discuss these important issues with the public.”
Candidate Chris Ward said, “I am grateful to the Police Officers Association, LGBT Weekly, and other partners for providing this forum so we can discuss the many critical issues important to neighbors in District Three and share my vision for our communities.”
