Carly Aquilino is a stand-up comedian described by audience members as “funny” and by her father as “a huge mistake”. A cast member of MTV’s Girl Code, Carly, a New York native, first stepped on stage at Gotham Comedy Club and has since been quickly rising in the comedy scene, performing regularly at The Stand Comedy Club in New York City.

Los Angeles Philharmonic Assistant Conductor Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla makes her Jacobs Music Center debut in this concert of contrasts: the curtain-raising dramatics of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No. 3, the brilliant and icily intense Violin Concerto of Jean Sibelius (performed by special guest Karen Gomyo) and the still-astounding early 20th century pyrotechnic masterpiece The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky.
