A five-year-old girl in San Diego was sent home from a Christian school for having two moms, according to KGTV San Diego.
The child’s parents, Sheena, a stay-at-home mom, and Lashaune, who is in the Navy, were devastated when they found out their child was no longer welcome at Mt. Erie Christian Academy.
“It was heartbreaking,” Sheena told KGTV San Diego. “I didn’t finish the conversation with them when they took us in the room because I just, I didn’t want to look at them any longer. I just couldn’t believe that they did that.”
“The least Christian thing I could think of is turning away a child,” said Rev. MacArthur Flournoy of HRC’s Religion and Faith Program. “The message this school is sending to this child is that God is not there for her nor for her parents. There’s absolutely nothing Godly in their actions.
