SAN DIEGO, California – San Diego-based LGBT artist RD Riccoboni will host a retrospective of his LGBT-themed works entitled “RAINBOW RIVER: An LGBT Artist’s Retrospective” at his newly opened gallery in Bankers Hill this Sunday, September 27th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm in support of San Diego Pride.

Known for his vibrant landscapes and city-scenes, RD Riccoboni has also faithfully chronicled watershed moments in LGBT history throughout his lifetime. His depictions of LGBT events and happenings – which began as a way to remember friends he had lost to HIV/AIDS – detail the growth and strength of the community over the past 25 years. Topics of this show will include the 1993 LGBT March on Washington, the 25th Anniversary of Stonewall in NYC, the 2008 protest of Prop 8’s passing in San Diego, the Repeal of DOMA and more!

Riccoboni explains, “These paintings tell a slice of San Diego’s LGBT history. It is my honor to share this with you, and the friends of San Diego Pride, as we travel together through this period of time along the Rainbow River.”

Signed and numbered copies of his most recent rendition of San Diego Pride’s 30 foot rainbow flag flying from the Museum of Man this past July will be on sale for a special price, and framed versions will be available by silent auction.

A $20 suggested donation is requested at the door to support San Diego Pride. Light refreshments and an open bar will be provided. The gallery is located at 2121 Fifth Ave Suite 205, SD CA 92101. Street parking is plentiful and free on Sundays.
