Standing outside the detention center where she is being held, Kim Davis’ attorney has announced that she will appeal her contempt of court ruling, reports The Advocate.
Mat Staver of the right-wing anti-LGBT legal group Liberty Counsel said at the press conference yesterday that Thursday’s hearing, at which U.S. District Judge David Bunning found the Kentucky county clerk in contempt for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples and ordered her into the custody of U.S. Marshals, was a “charade.”
Staver said that Davis, “… has no remorse and her constitutional rights were violated and her conscience trampled.”
According to the report Staver added that the marriage licenses that Davis’ clerks had subsequently issued were, “not worth the paper they are printed on.”
